The Outdoors
Outdoor fireplaces

Few things beat a fire on the deck with the mountains going dark in front of you. We have outdoor fireplaces on the decks — one on the main level and one off an upstairs bedroom — so you can warm up and wind down outside on a cool evening.

Using them

Our outdoor fireplaces are gas, so there's no wood to chop and no mess — just simple, controlled flame. They light with a switch or control nearby; turn them on to enjoy, and please turn them off when you head inside or call it a night.

We'll add exact, step-by-step lighting instructions here soon. In the meantime, if it isn't obvious or anything seems off, don't force it — just text us and we'll walk you through it.

A few safety notes

  • Never leave a fire unattended, and make sure it's fully off before you go inside or to bed.
  • Keep blankets, décor, and anything flammable well clear — and remember the glass and surround stay hot after the flame is off.
  • Supervise children and pets near the fireplaces at all times.
  • Please use only the gas fireplaces we provide — no open fires, wood, or portable fire pits, per our house rules and local fire code.

There's also an indoor gas fireplace in the great room — see Indoor fireplace.
