There's no big grocery store right at the top of the mountain, so the trick is to stock up in town on your way up. Which stores you'll pass depends on how you're coming in — here are the ones we actually use, in the order you'll likely reach them.
Flying into Knoxville (TYS)? You'll most likely come up through Maryville. Our usual stop is Food City — and you'll also pass a Kroger and a Publix along the way.
A great regional Southern grocery chain — friendly, well-stocked, and a local favorite. This is where we tend to stop when we come in from the airport side.
Coming in the other way — through Sevierville and Pigeon Forge — you'll pass these, roughly in this order on your way toward Wears Valley.
Typically our first stop in town. We stock up on food, plus the odds and ends — repair supplies, batteries, that one thing we forgot. It's inexpensive, convenient, and great for people-watching; just don't come here for specialty or high-end items.
For a higher-scale experience (minus the people-watching). Clean, friendly, with a good selection and roughly average prices — a nice step up if you're cooking something special.
Right on Wears Valley Road near Pigeon Forge — this is probably the most convenient store on the final stretch toward the cabin. Clean, good selection, and it has a pharmacy and a fuel center on site, so it's an easy one-stop before the climb.
The Kroger pharmacy above is the most convenient on the way in. Walmart in Sevierville also has a full pharmacy, and you'll find CVS and Walgreens locations along the Parkway in both Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. For anything urgent, see Hospital & urgent care.
