Parking is simple once you know the trick: head all the way up and park in the flat area at the top of the driveway. That's the spot — level, easy to get in and out of, and just steps from the door.
Pull up to the flat area at the top. Don't stop partway up the slope — keep going until it levels out, then park.
About the driveway
We'll be honest with you: the driveway is steep. The good news is it's also very short — you're up and parked in a matter of seconds. We've made it up in a small two-wheel-drive car in the pouring rain without any trouble, so you almost certainly don't need anything special to get up there.
The first time always feels a little dramatic; after that, you won't think twice about it.
A few quick tips
Keep your momentum on the way up — a slow, steady climb beats stopping halfway and starting again on the incline.
Pull all the way into the flat area at the top before you put it in park.
Heading out? Take the descent slow and easy, especially if the road is wet.
Four-wheel drive isn't required in normal conditions — a regular car handles it fine.
Ice or snow? Take it slow and be extra careful — a steep driveway and winter weather don't mix well. If conditions look icy and you're unsure, give us a call before you head up and we'll talk you through it.
