House Rules
Hot tub rules

The hot tub is one of the best seats in the house — and a few simple rules keep the water clean and everyone safe.

Before & during your soak

  • Rinse off lotions, sunscreen, and sweat before getting in — it keeps the water clean for everyone.
  • Keep soaks to 15–20 minutes at a stretch; take breaks to cool down and stay hydrated. Too long can cause dizziness or overheating.
  • Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • If you're pregnant, have a heart condition, or take medication that affects temperature or alertness, please check with your doctor first.
  • Maximum 5 people at a time.

Keeping it clean & safe

  • Keep the cover on when the tub isn't in use.
  • No glass or breakables nearby — please use non-breakable cups.
  • No diving, running, or rough play; the area gets slippery.
  • No oils, lotions, or bath products in the water.
  • If anyone's feeling ill (especially with diarrhea), please skip the tub until fully recovered.
  • Keep noise down after 10:00 PM for the neighbors.
Notice a leak, an unusual noise, or discolored water? Tell us right away — and please don't attempt repairs or chemical adjustments yourself. New to the controls? See The hot tub for how to use it.
