Fireplaces

There is nothing quite like a flickering fire to set the mood for a cozy evening at Tippity Top! Whether you’re snuggling up in the living room or enjoying the mountain air by one of our two outdoor fireplaces, we’ve made it as easy as possible to get the glow going. Each fireplace is gas-powered and controlled by a simple timer located on the wall nearby—just give it a twist or a tap to your desired time, and voila! Please keep in mind that the glass fronts get incredibly hot, so keep little paws (and big hands!) at a safe distance. Also, while we love a good fire, we kindly ask that you don’t run the indoor fireplace while the AC is cranking. It’s a bit like wearing a parka at the beach—it’s a battle of the thermostats that nobody wins! DO NOT PLACE OR BURN ANYTHING IN THE FIREPLACE.

If you find that the timer is on but the logs aren’t lighting, the pilot light may have gone out (sometimes the mountain wind gets a bit too adventurous). If you’re comfortable, you can usually find the pilot knob near the floor or behind the bottom grate; just push it in and use a long lighter to spark it back to life. However, if you’re not a “fire whisperer” or just don’t want to mess with it, please send us a message! We are more than happy to arrange for someone to come by and get it roaring for you. We want you to spend your time relaxing, not troubleshooting, so don’t hesitate to reach out so we can keep your stay toasty and 5-star bright.
