House Rules

House Rules

To ensure every guest enjoys the same high standard of comfort and safety, we’ve put together a few “ground rules” for the cabin. These aren’t meant to spoil the fun, but rather to protect the peaceful atmosphere and the pristine condition of Bearly Hangin’ On for everyone who visits. We truly appreciate you treating our home with the same care and respect as you would your own.

The Essentials

  • No Pets Allowed: We are huge animal lovers ourselves, but we built and designed this cabin specifically to be a pet-free environment. This is out of respect for our guests with severe allergies. If a pet is brought onto the property, you will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
  • Occupancy: To keep things comfortable and within safety limits, we have a maximum capacity of 8 people.
  • Smoking & Vaping: For the health of our guests and the safety of the cabin, there is absolutely no smoking or vaping permitted anywhere inside the home.
  • No Parties: We love a good time, but gatherings, parties, or events beyond the guests included in your booking are not permitted.
  • Quiet Hours: To keep things peaceful for our neighbors, please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This includes turning off any outdoor Bluetooth speakers during these times.

Safety & Property Care

  • Fire Safety: Per local fire codes, no candles, matches, or open flames are allowed inside. Additionally, please do not start any open fires or use portable fire pits outside of the dedicated gas amenities we have provided.
  • Safety Devices: For your protection, do not tamper with, cover, or disable any smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms, or exterior security cameras.
  • Supervise Children: We love hosting families, but please ensure children are supervised at all times, especially near the stairs, hot tub, and balconies.
  • Furniture: We’ve spent a lot of time getting the layout just right! Please do not move furniture or rearrange the beds.
  • Wildlife: For your safety and the health of the animals, do not feed the wildlife. This includes leaving food scraps outside.
  • Trash Disposal: To avoid attracting unwanted bear “guests,” please place all trash in the metal bear-proof cage as instructed in the trash section.

Respectful Use

  • Photography: While we love seeing your vacation photos, no commercial photography or professional shoots are allowed without our prior written approval.
  • Parking: Please park only in the designated spaces for the cabin to ensure neighbors and emergency vehicles have clear access.
  • Maintenance: If something breaks or isn’t working right, please report it immediately. We would much rather fix it for you now than find out about it after you leave.
  • Arrival & Departure: Please respect our check-in and check-out times so our cleaning team has the time they need to get the cabin perfect for the next arrival.

More

Since you’re looking to make this comprehensive, you might consider adding these three common “cabin-specific” rules:

  1. Deck Safety: No climbing on railings or hanging items (like wet towels) over the deck rails.
  2. HVAC Settings: A request to keep doors closed when the AC/Heat is on (which we mentioned in the doors section, but is good to reiterate here).
  3. Illegal Substances: A standard clause stating that no illegal activities or substances are permitted on the property.

Ultimate Rule

If you open it, close it. If you borrow it, return it. If you turn it on, turn it off. if you break it, fix it (or let us know). If you use it, take care of it. If you make a mess, clean it up. If you move it, put it back.

Hot Tub Rules

Hot Tub Rules

Please be sure you are free of lotions, sunscreens, and sweat prior to using the hot tub— this helps keep the water clean for everyone. Limit soak time to 15–20 minutes at a stretch, take breaks to cool down, and stay hydrated with water; prolonged or excessive use can cause dizziness or overheating. Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times, and anyone who is pregnant, has heart conditions, or is taking medication that affects temperature regulation or consciousness should consult a doctor before using the hot tub.

Keep the cover on when the hot tub is not in use and do not leave glassware or breakable items nearby; use non-breakable containers for drinks. No diving, running, or rough play in or around the hot tub — the area can be slippery. Please avoid using oils, lotions, or bath products in the water; if someone is ill (especially with diarrhea), do not use the hot tub until fully recovered to help protect other guests.

Respect quiet hours and other guests by limiting noise after 10:00 PM and keeping group sizes limited to 5 people at a time. Report any leaks, unusual noises, or water discoloration to us immediately and do not attempt repairs or chemical adjustments yourself. If you’re unsure how to operate the controls, see this section in the guidebook.
