Level 2 EV Charger
For our guests traveling with electric vehicles, we are happy to provide a complimentary Emporia Level 2 (48 Amp) EV Charger. It is located outside, tucked conveniently under the stairs. The charger features a universal J1772 connector, which works with most electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. If you drive a Tesla, you will just need to use the J1772 adapter that typically comes with your car.
How to Access & Use To keep the charger secure and ready for your arrival, it is housed in a locked, weatherproof enclosure. We provide this as a free amenity, but we do ask that you send us a quick message on the booking platform to request the combination code. Once you have the code:
- Open the enclosure and unwind the 25ft charging cable.
- Plug the connector firmly into your vehicle’s charging port.
- The charger is set to “plug and charge” mode, so it should begin delivering power automatically without the need for an app or a separate login.
- When you’re finished, please neatly coil the cable back inside the box and ensure the enclosure is locked.
A Few “Non-EV People” Notes While we are thrilled to offer this convenience, please keep in mind that we aren’t EV experts! We provide the equipment as a courtesy, but we cannot be held responsible for any technical issues or damages to your vehicle during its use. Think of it like a “use at your own risk” mountain amenity. Also, since the Smokies can be unpredictable, please ensure the enclosure door is shut tight while charging to keep the equipment (and your car’s port) protected from any sudden rain or snow!
